Roc Prologo, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, received certification in commercial art from the Pittsburgh Art Institute. His vocation, however, was in computer science—a career that spanned more than 45 years. During that time, he continued his art, producing oil paintings as gifts to friends and family. He has studied art in all mediums but had no experience painting in watercolors until after retirement.

Upon retiring Roc returned to his first passion, art. He hones his skills and sustains his interest in art by regularly attending watercolor workshops and classes. Roc has studied under the tutelage of many local and nationally acclaimed artists. He has been recognized in several exhibits and has been accepted into many juried shows while receiving awards in watercolor competitions. Roc has traveled and painted on location throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio, the eastern seaboard (Maine to Florida), and internationally in France and Italy.

Roc enjoys painting a wide variety of subjects, such as still life, portraits and landscapes, as well as expressing himself in different ways such as painting
en plein air.
During his international travels, Roc enjoys capturing the day-to-day activities of the local people in the villages he travels through. During annual trips to Maine, Roc conveys his subjects by capturing the character of the lobster villages and surrounding areas at different times of the day. Roc is fascinated by the ability to relate a complete story in a single painting.

Roc lives in Freedom, Pennsylvania with his wife Elvira. They have three children and six grandchildren. He is a member of the American Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, National Watercolor Society, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Cranberry Artist Network, North Hills Art Center, and is a Signature member of The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. He also is a lifetime member of the
Whiskey Painters of America, the finest and most ‘unique’ miniature painting organization in the world.

He displays and sells his artwork at the Latrobe Art Center Gallery in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
